More than three lakhs devotees paid visit to Athi Varadhar Darshan on 6th August in Varadharaja Perumal temple, Kanchipuram.
The crowd gathered early in the morning to have Darshan of Athi Varadhar wearing a white-blue outfit. As the evening approached, the number of devotees increased and the rush become too high. Outdoor vehicles were parked in the city borders itself.
It has been announced that the special darshan will be cancelled on the 16th and 17th and only free darshan will be allowed o these days.16th and 17th of August were announced as government holidays as Athi Varadhar darshan ends on that day.
With 7 thousand 500 policemen already on duty, an additional 5 thousand policemen will be deployed in the duty for security activities from the 10th August.
